The truth about Whitney Houston's new CD cover

Houston_lIs this really Whitney Houston's new album cover? That's what all of the golden-throated diva's fans have been wondering ever since this image recently appeared online, sparking an Internet rumor that it's the cover art for her next CD. Don't believe the hype, people! A rep for Houston's label, Arista Records, confirmed to me that the rumor is 100 percent false. I'm also told that the phony album cover was created by a fan. Here's the official statement from Arista: "The allegedly 'new' Whitney Houston album cover circulating throughout the Internet is not a legitimate album cover for Ms. Houston's forthcoming Arista disc. Ms. Houston is still recording and we look forward to unveiling new music along with the official album cover in due time." Phew! That's a relief. For a second, I was afraid she was trying to go all Sasha Fierce on us! Keep it classy, Whitney. You don't need to show off T&A when your greatest asset is T-A-L-E-N-T.

Some of you are coming down on Whitney for stuff that's in the past. She's way past it and she seems to be doing a lot better. Go to youtube and see her performances at the 2009 pre-Grammy Awards Party. Sure, she doesn't have the voice she used to 25 years ago but she can still sing better than Jennifer Hudson, and that's saying a lot!

I've said it for years: there is only 1 person that America is waiting for, and will accept with open arms no matter what: Whitney Houston. No matter how bad she messes up, or how many drugs she does, we still can't wait to see her again. As for someone talking about Mariah: anyone that is a fan of E=MC2 is NOT a fan of her first 4 CDs. I used to be one of the biggest Mariah fans in the world, but I cannot stand this new "sound" she's going for. Her voice is starting to go with age, and her look is that of desperation. Mariah's on the way out for sure- Whitney will be just fine.
Oh, and yes, Beyonce is a song stealing skeeze- she was NOT the first woman to win the ASCAP, and is NOT the songwriter she claims she is. If there is a song that shows it was written by Beyonce and someone else, all Beyonce did was the adlib- which she considers writing. She cannot write a decent song by herself, so she steals credit from actual talented songwriters.

Yeah, it was Listen 2 This. I liked those, but then they started not being exclusively about music, (they started to include video games & comic books too) http://carpet-cleaning.emenace.com/carpetclba/8.html carpet cleaning atlanta undefined

whether that is da real whitney or nt the point is we need her to come back and claim her spot like she never left!!!

Whitney Houston is too classy and glamorous a woman. I'm sure that someone probably took her face and placed a skimpy suit on her for that album cover. I predict that she'll return to those classy gowns that she wore in the first part of her music career. That kind of outfit would fit for Beyonce or Rihanna.

I love it! C'mon Whitney you're great!

to Brit... Fri, Nov 14, 2008 at 02:29 AM EST

Kandi from Xscape was the first woman (hence, first black woman) to win the ASCAP award for writing No Scrubs. Not Beyonce.

Jap Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 05:53 PM EST

That is Naomi Campbell's photo then her head was replaced with Whitney's picture. Photo shop was used.

kimya Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 05:51 PM EST

whitney would never approve a pic like that anyway..she is too classy and a legendary diva...just wait and c..she is back like she never left...she is UNDEFEATED!!!

As for Beyonce winning an ASCAP award, you can not be serious. Beyonce has stolen writing credit for virtually every song she's recorded since Destiny's Child's second or third album. This is an open secret in the music industry. What gets me is that she even has the audacity to try to get songwriting credit for songs that she covers. Example: Des'ree's "Kissing You," which came out 1996. Beyonce rerecorded it in 2006, changed the title to "Still In Love (Kissing You)," adlibed one line in the song, and then added her name to the writing credit. WTF?!

Beyonce is a VERY talented performer, but she is no songwriter. I think it's very misleading to call her one when all she does is add a vocal flourish to a track that's already finished, then insist on being called a writer. That's total bs. And frankly, after the Des'ree incident, there's no telling how many other songs Beyonce been credited with writing when all she did was add an extra "oooh" or "aaah" at the end. Disgusting!

Back in the day, yes, Whitney had "The Voice." But her crack ("show me the receipts!") addiction has ruined it. She can NOT sing like she used to. She just can't. Too much damage to her vocal cords.

Luis Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 01:43 PM EST

Regardless of her issues Whitney is an artist that has god given talent. Her voice is unrivaled and her stage presence commands attention from all. She will be back to reclaim her her spot on the scene. Whitney is "The Voice" and I for one will never count her out.

c.e. Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 12:48 PM EST

I thought that was RuPaul on the cover

Alan Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 12:48 PM EST

I doubt Whitney could ever regain her past glory. How can her voice recover from a decade of drug and alcohol abuse? I'm hoping that we see old school Whitney, but I'm afraid it might end up just being sad.

cynthia crain Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 12:47 PM EST

so people fall down they don't have too stay there, thats why my girl Whitney Is on Her way UP. LOVE YOU GIRL PLEASE KEEP THE FAITH1111

stiffy Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 12:45 PM EST

To Keith,
Mariah can still sing though. Mariah's great new song 'I Stay In Love' debuts one notch higher on the R&B chart than Beyonce's latest 'At Last'! This is Mariah's 6th single (YES, 6th single) on this elite chart from her stunning E=MC2(squared) CD and it will do better than any new Beyonce or a Whitney hit anyday. Mariah can still sing.

Britney Spears Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 12:38 PM EST

There's no comparison.
Beyonce is a quad threat
Beyonce is the first black female to win an ASCAP award for her writing so go head with your hating.....
Whitney does not write, or dance.
Whitney >was< a super entertainer.
Thanks to her stupid decisions AKA Bobby
Her career needs the jaws of life and a difibulator.

LOVE the typography, fake or not.

Mr. FAMU Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 11:56 AM EST

Um.. Why do people keep fooling themselves. Whitneys greatest asset WAS (thats past tense) TALENT after drug use that NO ONE MADE HER START she is a shadow of her former self.

No one in their right mind would say beyonce cant sing. Her range, technical prowess, and ear for music are unrivaled in the current music scene.

Please stop hating to build this crack head. The only person whitney fans has to blame for her current state is WHITNEY! She didnt care about herself or her fans thats why she ruined her voice with drugs.

She is simply not talented anymore and needs to go away.

*and thats keeping it real*

Twist Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 11:24 AM EST

Who is Whitney Houston?

raprilc Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 10:36 AM EST

Now I'm trying to figure out whose body that is. Naomi Campbell maybe?

kenton Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 11:42 PM EST

"soon," "due time," Whitney Houston's 7th Studio Album. 4 years in production. "Boy" this album is gonna be awesome. I mean 4 years in production.

Keith Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 10:02 PM EST

I'm sorry but Whitney, like Mariah, can't sing anymore! and that's a FACT!

Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 08:31 PM EST

I was about to say! With a voice and legend like hers... nonsense!

Matthew Knowles Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 08:21 PM EST

Why is Beyonce mentioned? She is not a great singer, not even a good singer. Her voice is average. She's more of an entertainer/dancer, not a singer. And she steals writing and producing credits. I can't beleive she hasn't been sued for that ish yet. she ain't no artist, just a pretty theft!

ruthie Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 07:39 PM EST

Yeah..and most singers could only wish that they had Whitney's voice too!

jaime Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 07:16 PM EST

I LOVE HOW YOU PUT BEYONCE IN HER PLACE!!!!

TALENT

john Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 07:08 PM EST

you spelled 'your' wrong.

LOL Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 05:57 PM EST

Come on, people. I can't believe anyone thought this was real. Hilarious.

raprilc Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

Whitney wishes she had a body like this.
